Introducing BR organic Rosehip Oil: Oil your skin will love!
For many, the thought of applying oil directly to the face will be met with horror, particularly those with an oily skin type.
Logically, many consumers feel that applying oil can lead to a greasy complexion and breakouts, the very outcome they’re trying to avoid.
At Biologi, we know skin! And, as long as you introduce a high-quality oil gradually, the benefits of using a plant-based oil as part of a skincare routine can be hard to beat.
There are many plant-based oils on the market, but our preferred oil (and the only one we recommend applying to the skin) is rosehip oil.
And, on that note, we’d like to introduce the next single-plant ingredient product in the Biologi range…Br Organic Rosehip Oil!
Why did we choose rosehip oil?
Rosehip oil (extract of rosa canina seed) is recommended for its natural botanical activity that most closely resembles the skin’s internal function.
Rosehip oil contains a powerful combination of phytonutrients including linoleic and alpha-linolenic fatty acids, vitamins A, E and C, which work together to provide the following benefits to the skin:
Hydration and moisture
Cells naturally hydrate themselves, but skin types more prone to dryness might need a helping hand, particularly during the cooler months when there’s less moisture in the air. Rosehip oil naturally contains fatty acids that strengthen cell walls to keep the natural hydration locked in.
Rosehip oil is a natural source of vitamin C, which stimulates collagen production to decrease fine lines and wrinkles. As a naturally hydrating oil, Br oil also gives skin a healthier appearance to reduce the visible signs of ageing.
The combination of vitamins A and C promotes cellular turnover, which removes dull skin cells from the top layer of skin, leaving only those that are bright and glowing.
Rosehip oil contains anthocyanin, a flavonoid responsible for restoring damaged skin and repairing connective tissue. When applied topically, the natural nutrient can reduce redness and enhance the skin’s natural glow.
Overexposure to the sun, hormonal imbalances, or a combination of both can lead to pigmentation which can present as darker patches on the face. Rosehip oil contains naturally occurring vitamin A, which may brighten darker patches of skin when applied consistently.
Why choose Br Organic Rosehip Oil?
The biggest challenge consumers face when choosing a face oil is the quality of the oil source. If a product contains rosehip oil in a minute quality and is laced with a concoction of synthetics (look out for ‘naturally derived’ on the label), you’re likely to experience irritation as skin cells become overloaded with toxins.
Why Br Organic Rosehip Oil is different
Br oil challenges conventional oil extraction methods to provide consumers with the most natural, unrefined rosehip oil on the market.
Traditional extraction methods provide higher quantities of a product (meaning it can retail for a lower price) but remove valuable fats, proteins and nutrients required for skin health.
Cold pressed for higher nutritional content
Cold pressing is a method of extracting oil with a seed press. By removing exposure of extracts to extreme heat, the integrity of the natural nutrients is protected, leading to a higher nutritional content of the oil and therefore more potent benefits to your skin.
How to use Br oil
- After cleansing, apply Biologi serum of choice morning and night
- As often as needed, wait for an hour for serums to penetrate the deeper layers and apply Br oil all over the skin (or in specific areas as needed) and massage gently.
- As with any new product, introduce Br oil gradually to assess the skin’s reaction. To test, apply a small amount under the jaw.
Br oil smell
Br Organic Rosehip Oil is free from additives including artificial fragrances used to give traditional rosehip oils a flowery aroma.
While you might be used to the traditional rose smell, this is a synthetic fragrance that can cause irritation and sensitivity and is completely unnecessary providing no value to the skin. Unrefined and cold pressed, Br oil smells and acts just like it does in its botanical source.
As always, we recommend you do your own research before applying anything to your skin, but Br Organic Rosehip Oil is our recommended oil to use in conjunction with Biologi serums as part of a holistic skincare routine. It’s on sale from Tuesday, August 27, visit the Biologi shop to get yours!
