World Wildlife Day: Why March 3 is significant for simply powerful skincare
March 3 is the UN World Wildlife Day; a day to raise awareness and acknowledge the animals and plants of the world.
This year’s focus will highlight some of the most critically endangered species of wild flora and fauna and provide innovative solutions to implement and manage strategies for protection.
If you’re new around here, you might be wondering why we have such a passion for Australia’s flora and fauna.
The answer is simple.
As experts in the skincare field, we know that the skin cells thrive on active ingredients that work on the skin just as they do in the plant.
And anything that can draw attention to the benefits of the world’s fauna and fauna gets a big tick from us.
Typically, skincare products are made up of 20-30 mostly synthetic formulating ingredients. This low level of traceability gives consumers zero ideas of where the ingredients came from and what they’re putting on their skin.
When you choose Biologi, you’re choosing a range of clean cosmeceuticals ethically sourced, and jam-packed with phytonutrients that work on the skin just as they do in their original plant source. All ingredients are fully active meaning they change the skin functionality to achieve faster, more noticeable and longer-lasting results.
To our broader mission, it is therefore critical to raise awareness and look at ways to protect our flora and fauna. Without preserving our plants, we simply cannot give the skin everything it needs to thrive.
Every product in the Biologi range of transformative skincare has been chosen for its unique benefits to the skin. Sustainably sourced from Australia’s front yard, keep reading to find out a little more about our ingredients.
Finger lime is the single-plant ingredient used to make Bf Restore Face & Body Serum. We have a close relationship with a grower in the Northern Rivers of New South Wales that has existed as long as the brand itself.
This robust relationship with a local supplier enables us to boost the local economy and hand-pick the fruit used to create Bf Restore Face & Body Serum.
Kakadu plum is the single-plant ingredient extract used in Bk Rejuvenation Eye Serum.
Kakadu plum has been used by Indigenous Australians as an antiseptic and a source of nutrition for thousands of years. All our Kakadu plum is sourced from growers across Western Australia and the Northern Territory from farms that rely on Aboriginal communities to harvest the product.
We only make wholesale arrangements with legitimate companies to contribute to agriculture across the Arnhem Land.
Davidson plum is sourced from a local grower in the Byron Bay Hinterland. Building a strong local relationship means the fruit can be frozen as soon as it’s picked and transferred to the Biologi warehouse for extraction and bottling of Bd Luminosity Serum. Unlike many other fruits, Davidson plum retains all nutritional content once frozen.
Quandong is the extract for the evening ritual of Bqk Radiance Serum. We’ve chosen a farmer from Broken Hill in New South Wales with sustainable and ethical practices that align with our wider ethos.
Again, we have direct contact with all the growers to ensure accountability across every step of the process.
Mountain pepper berry
Mountain pepper berry is the single-plant ingredient used in Bm Regenerate Anti-Ageing Serum. The native fruit flourishes in a cooler climate and is harvested in the foothills of the Blue Tier in the North-East Highlands of Tasmania.
Soapberry is the hero ingredient in our revolutionary, world-first Bc Refresh Cleanser. Soapberry, otherwise known as soap nuts thrive in the climatic divide of the Indian Himalayas where they have been harvested for thousands of years.
Br Organic Rosehip Oil is the cold-pressed and unrefined extract of rosa canina. The superior product appears in the bottle exactly as it’s found in its natural source. Harvested in Namibia, Africa, we preserve the proteins and essential fats that protect the plant to make this the most untouched rosehip oil on the market.
While there are many processes and people involved in the manufacture of many skincare products, we know that less is more.
We avoid intermediaries to maintain honest relationships and provide accountability to both suppliers and consumers.
With flora and fauna forming the foundations of our revolutionary range, World Wildlife Day is one of the most critical in our calendar.
